Nursing

Nursing The nursing staff at PVSES has over 150 years of combined experience! The majority of our nurses are registered veterinary technicians (RVTs). This means that they have attended two to four years of school and intensive training in veterinary nursing and have passed rigorous state boards to become licensed. Our nurses work very closely with the doctors in providing exemplary care for their patients.

Our ICU is staffed around the clock by these superior nurses; monitoring, treating and caring for our hospitalized patients with skill and gentle compassion. Our nurses are essential in providing solid, competent support for our team of specialists and emergency veterinarians in areas including anesthesia, internal medicine, trauma, radiology, surgery and chemotherapy.

Reception

Reception The reception staff at PVSES, with many years of experience in specialty and emergency veterinary practice, is dedicated to ensuring that you and your pet have a positive and efficient experience with us, regardless of what it was that brought you through our door. The receptionists are committed to acting as a conduit between you and your doctor, and to facilitate communication between you during the entire course of your relationship with us.

Our Referral Coordinator is responsible for scheduling all new referral and second opinion consultation appointments. The RC will obtain the necessary medical records from your regular veterinarian, so that your referral to the specialist on staff here at PVSES is both correct and expeditious. The RC will work closely with the referring veterinarian, to ensure that your regular doctor is apprised of your pet's situation and progress here, as a partner in your pet's medical care.

The reception staff is devoted to client care, so that our veterinary and nursing staff may more effectively devote themselves to patient care.
